2018年に『biotope I』、2019年に『biotope II』と2年連続でアルバムのリリースをしてきました。少しの充電期間を頂き、2年ぶりにこの度、シングル「A fog of calm」を発表させて頂きます。

情報化社会は、大人だけではなく、子供や幼児にも極端な効率性と実績を求め、「成功者」になることを強要し、メディアは極端なまでに物事を二項対立に単純化し、デフォルメし、デジタルは若者から個性やアンビギュリティ（曖昧性）を取り除き、そして、浄化してきました。本来あった「平穏」は次々と取り除かれ、人々が発する言葉からは優しさが瞬く間に消えてしまい、私たちがそれに気付いたときには、このとてつもなく早い流れを止めることができなくなってしまいました。情報化社会の第2フェーズは、誰もが本来求めている「平穏」を、この歪な、そして本来の意味を取り違えた競争社会から取り戻すこと1点ではないでしょうか。

2020年に始まったコロナ禍で、私たちの最後の自由である「移動の自由」、つまり「旅」すら奪われる中で、しかし、それでも時間の間に、海や川、山や空に触れ、そしてそれらを育む人々の営みに触れ、まだ優しくいられる可能性を確信しながら、この「A fog of calm」を書き下ろしました。

遠くに聞こえるパイプオルガンとクワイヤーからはじまり、ストリングスを巻き込んだフルオーケストラでクライマックスを迎えるアレンジは、平穏を取り戻すための勇気を表しています。

1人でも多くの方にこの曲を聞いていただけると幸いです。

I have released albums for the second consecutive year, “biotope I” in 2018 and “biotope II” in 2019. After a short charging period, I will announce the single “A fog of calm” for the first time in 2 years.

The information-oriented society demands extreme efficiency and achievements not only for adults but also for children and toddlers, forcing them to become “successful people”, and the media has extremely simplified things into binary oppositions and deformed, digital has removed and purified individuality and ambiguity from young people.

The original “calm” was removed one after another, and the kindness disappeared from the words people spoke in a blink of an eye, and when we noticed it, we couldn’t stop this tremendously fast flow.

The second phase of the information-oriented society is to regain the “calm” that everyone originally seeks from this distorted and competitive society that has misunderstood its original meaning.

In the COVID-19 pandemic that began in 2020, our last freedom, “freedom of movement,” or even “journey,” was robbed, but in time, we still touched the sea, rivers, mountains, and sky. And, touching on the activities of the people who nurture them, I wrote this “A fog of calm”, convinced that I could still be kind.

I hope that as many people as possible can listen to this song.
